Bachelor of Arts, International Development • University of Guelph
Mackenzie is a graduate student from the University of Guelph where she received a Bachelor of Arts (honours) with a major in international development. From her undergrad degree, she was able to gain knowledge and insight into the economic, social, and environmental hardships around the globe. Throughout her degree, Mackenzie also developed the ability to critically analyze information and solutions relating to past and present development initiatives. Over the four years, she realized that businesses, governments, communities, and individuals need to adopt a practice of sustainability in their everyday life, and everyday business.
Over the past three summers, Mackenzie worked at a bank on the investment side. She was able to gain experience working in a high energy environment, where tasks had to be completed accurately and in a time sensitive manner. Mackenzie also played a key role in problem-solving relating to clients' investment accounts, she was successfully able to use the resources available to sort out client issues, concerns, along with management requests. With the skills and experience Mackenzie has gained from her past work experience, she believes she will be able to play a role in the development of sustainability throughout businesses.
Mackenzie hopes to be apart of the future of sustainability, more specifically being apart of the process where corporations run their businesses in an economic, social, and environmental sustainable way.
