Bio
Joloe Mojica completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Criminology at the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2025. Joloe is interested in environmental law and policy, and reducing environmental crimes such as the illegal wildlife trade, pollution, and illegal fishing.
Joloe is currently part of the City of Mississauga’s Youth Climate Action Committee (YCAC). She is working on a capstone project that aligns with the priorities outlined within the Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP). She is planning on making sustainability and climate change education accessible to the general public by increasing student-led booths at public events. She has received the IMI Certificate of Completion in Global Sustainability in 2025 which enhanced her knowledge of Systems Thinking, Interdisciplinary Perspectives, Waste Management, and Sustainable Consumption within the Environmental Context.
Joloe has been awarded the MScSM Entrance Scholarship 2026 for her outstanding academic achievements, dedication to environmental studies, and ongoing commitment to sustainability. She has earned the UTM Student Leadership Award in Sustainability in 2024 and the UofT Student Leadership Award in 2025 for her commitment to volunteering for environmental initiatives. She was also awarded the GGE Student Mentorship Award in 2025 for her commitment to improving campus life for students in the Department of Geography, Geomatics, and Environment.
Joloe is interested in promoting sustainability across the motorsports industry. In the near future, she hopes to collaborate with teams to reach climate goals and commitments such as becoming Net Zero by 2030. Outside of academic work, Joloe enjoys going to concerts in her free time and loves listening to alternative rock music. She attends several motorsports-based events and is passionate about the art of filmmaking.
