Dana Benzerti

Dana Benzerti received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in June of 2026, specializing in environmental management and minoring in environmental law and policy. Throughout her childhood, Dana had the opportunity to travel and move between different places, allowing her to experience a variety of environments. Exposure to both natural and built environments caused an early interest in the relationship between people and the environment and encouraged her to think critically about environmental challenges and sustainability. This interest continued to develop throughout her undergraduate studies, where she explored topics related to sustainability, environmental management, climate change, sustainable development, and environmental policy. Her academic interests focus on the impacts of resource consumption and future sustainable solutions to address current environmental challenges. 

Throughout her undergraduate studies, Dana developed her understanding of sustainability through both academic and extracurricular experiences. As part of a team, she contributed to a comprehensive waste audit for Steam Whistle Brewing, analyzing waste generation patterns and identifying opportunities to improve waste diversion and recycling practices, as well as overall sustainability performance. In addition, she was actively involved in an academic society that represents environmental studies students at the University of Toronto, where she helped promote sustainability focused events, panel discussions, and initiatives through social media, encouraging environmental awareness and boosting engagement within the campus community. 

Outside academics, Dana enjoys traveling and new experiences. She has a particular interest in learning about different cultures through food and being with her family. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, spending time with her cats, trying new cafes, and watching movies.
