Bachelor of Science (Honours), Specialization in Biology • Western University
Holly graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science, Honors Specialization in Biology in 2018. Throughout her undergraduate degree she became interested in ecology and the relationship between humans and the environment. Her interest in sustainability issues are rooted in her love of biology and nature, and she is interested in integrating sustainability practices into businesses that shape society.
During the summers of her undergrad, Holly was a Research Assistant at the Ottawa Hospital where she developed her data management and analytical skills, which she further built on during her fourth year undergraduate thesis on the effects of climate change on the symbiosis between plants and fungi. Conducting her thesis honed her ability to draw insights from large data sets and writing skills, but it also opened her eyes to how strongly climate change can affect all aspects of an ecosystem. This solidified her decision to pursue sustainability. Most recently, Holly worked in the environmental department at TD Bank where she assisted in managing environmental and social risk, identified areas for development of green products and services, and developed her interest in sustainable and impact investing.
Outside of school and work, Holly loved being an orientation volunteer during her undergrad where she mentored first year students through their first year of university by providing guidance and advice to ensure their academic and social success.
In her spare time, Holly loves reading, taking her dog for walks, reading about fashion and its sustainability, and travelling.
