Bio

Allegra completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, graduating with the Class of 2018. She is interested in animal welfare and ecosystem conservation, as well as how environmental policy and the implementation of sustainable resource management will affect animals in various ecosystems.

For the last two years, Allegra has been a dedicated volunteer at the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada. She has worked on several administrative and financial tasks in the office as well as volunteering at JGI booths to help raise awareness about what JGI Canada does to help make a difference. She also helped establish the first Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots chapter at the University of Toronto, and she actively participated in the group as its treasurer. In her final year, Allegra was involved as the events coordinator for the University of Toronto Environmental Action group. One of the events in which she helped organize was a panel discussion on the drinking water crisis in Indigenous communities in Canada. She also helped put together a document prior to the 2018 Ontario election, which broke down all of the parties’ stances and commitments to key environmental issues.

In her spare time, Allegra enjoys taking part in intramural sports teams including soccer, lacrosse and basketball. She also likes to explore the array of restaurants in downtown Toronto, especially vegetarian and vegan ones. Allegra is determined to help protect animals and the environment from the negative impacts of human activities, and she hopes to help companies facilitate a shift towards becoming more sustainable.
