Bio
Mya Boueiz completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Science at McMaster University in 2025 and her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature in 2026. Her academic background spans human nutrition, environmental studies, geography, data analysis, literature, and cultural studies. Her studies in life science, nutrition, and environmental science shaped her interest in the relationship between food production, human health, and the environment. She is particularly interested in the health and environmental implications of agricultural practices, as well as the role of innovation and technology in making food production more sustainable.
During her undergraduate studies, Mya sought opportunities to apply her knowledge beyond the classroom. In Human Nutritional Toxicology, she researched mercury contamination in the English-Wabigoon River system and its documented impacts on the Grassy Narrows First Nation, examining the connections between environmental exposure, human health, and community well-being. As part of an advanced nutrition course, she also developed and delivered a community workshop on osteoporosis prevention and vitamin D for older adults, translating scientific research into clear, practical health information.
Alongside her studies, Mya gained professional experience in client-facing and administrative roles. As a real estate administrator, she supported more than 150 real estate professionals and managed compliance, documentation, and day-to-day administrative processes.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Mya enjoys rock climbing, gardening, and language learning. Her interest in growing her own produce complements her academic interest in sustainable agriculture and food production, while her curiosity about other cultures has inspired her to study German and Italian. As she begins the Master of Science in Sustainability Management program, she looks forward to expanding her knowledge of sustainable agriculture and gaining practical experience in the field.
