Bio

Arushi Chopra is a sustainability advocate, designer, and entrepreneur with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design and a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Toronto Metropolitan University, as well as a Certificate in Graphic Design and Visual Communication from OCAD University. Her interests lie in sustainable manufacturing, waste management, and circular economy initiatives, and she is excited to explore how these principles can be applied across industries, particularly in renewable energy and building retrofits.

After several years working in Toronto’s fashion industry and advancing into operations management roles, Arushi founded Studio Dialectica in 2023. Motivated by growing awareness of the fashion industry’s environmental and humanitarian challenges, she set out to create more accessible and inclusive pathways to sustainable fashion through education, repair, and upcycling. Since its founding, Studio Dialectica has diverted more than 1,000 pounds of textiles from landfill and engaged over 600 participants through workshops, repair events, and educational programming. Supported by grants from municipal, regional, provincial, and nonprofit organizations, the company has partnered with Uniqlo, Evergreen Brick Works, York Region, the City of Mississauga, Toronto Metropolitan University, Amsterdam Fashion Week, and schools across the Greater Toronto Area to deliver sustainable apparel education and circular fashion initiatives.

Outside of work, Arushi believes that cooking is one of the most important community building activities and is always in search of good food. She enjoys supporting small businesses, discovering local makers, and embracing the outdoors through cycling, camping, and hiking; proving that even a devoted city girl can learn to love nature.
