Bio
Aayush graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2022 with a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Marketing and concentrating in Sustainability & Social Impact. His interest in sustainability was shaped by both his coursework and his involvement in initiatives such as fundraising for Oxfam Canada and volunteering with Geering Up, a STEM outreach program for youth across British Columbia. Growing up in India, Malaysia, and Indonesia, Aayush also led community development initiatives at school, experiences that deepened his commitment to the social dimensions of sustainability.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Aayush began working as a Sustainability & ESG Analyst at a sustainability consulting startup in Vancouver, where he supported the integration of ESG strategies into business operations. He later joined an American private equity firm, first as a Recruiting Coordinator and then as a Talent and Communications Specialist. These roles provided him with insight into how companies operate and why sustainability is often deprioritized under economic or organizational strain, reinforcing his desire to build strategies that embed sustainability at their core.
In large part due to his growing up in different countries, Aayush loves travelling and exploring different cultures. Food has always been a huge part of his life and though he might not enjoy cooking it, he loves to eating it! He loves films, and is a devoted fan of the English football club Arsenal.
