Max Goodman-Coop is a former entrepreneur, choosing to take time off during his undergrad to plan, successfully fund (through a mix of private and public monies), and execute his own business. He later returned to school to complete his Bachelors of Science Hons. in Physics (with an Energy and the Environment specialization) at the University of Ontario, Institute of Technology. Max undertook an undergraduate research thesis on the performance of different dyes for use in dye-sensitized solar cells, and is keen to continue working with renewable energy technologies.

Immediately after graduation, Max began working for the Calgary based energy company Veresen Inc. Max specifically focused on the development, administration, and operations of their power assets, as well as power modeling for renewable energy assets. He also worked to help design, implement, and administrate large portions of Veresen's sustainability monitoring and reporting tools site (S.M.A.R.T).

While simultaneously consulting for Veresen and working on his Masters, Max worked with Conservation Halton to help build their sustainability plan from scratch.
