Bio
Meha Shah graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, before moving to Denmark to pursue a Master's in Global Development at the University of Copenhagen. During her Master's, she trained in mixed-methods research and conducted fieldwork in Tanzania, Denmark, and India. This grounding in development economics and research methods has shaped the way she approaches sustainability today, combining rigorous analysis with a close attention to the people most affected by corporate decisions.
Meha began her career in policy research at Carnegie India, before joining Good Business Lab as a Partnerships Associate, where she built and managed partnerships with the private sector, foundations, and multinational institutions to improve conditions for blue-collar workers in India. Most recently, as a Research Analyst at the World Benchmarking Alliance, she assessed the performance of 2000 of the world’s biggest companies on human rights, living wage, gender equality, and decent work. These experiences have given her an on-the-ground view of how sustainability initiatives play out within different contexts and a broader view of how thousands of companies are performing on sustainability issues globally. This dual perspective has shaped how she thinks about corporate sustainability: as something that needs to work at both the level of policy and at the level of individual workers and factory floors.
Throughout her professional journey, Meha has remained focused on the relationship between corporate impact and worker wellbeing, particularly within global supply chains. With the MScSM program, she aims to build on this social lens with a stronger understanding of environmental sustainability, combining the two to help organizations turn sustainability commitments into practical, measurable action.
Outside of work, Meha enjoys travelling, exploring new cuisines, reading, practicing yoga, and hiking.
