Bachelor of Commerce in Managing for Sustainability and Finance • McGill University
Bio
Adèle Saène completed her Bachelor of Commerce from the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, Montreal, in December 2024. Having initially aimed for a Major in Finance, she then discovered the Managing for Sustainability program and opted for that path instead, judging its content more aligned with her interests and ambition, while keeping Finance as her Minor. During her time at McGill, Adèle attended a diverse array of courses, from Environmental Studies and Ethics in Management to Advanced Corporate Finance, allowing her to develop her understanding of the complexities present in the managerial world and identify ways to help organizations in their transition towards a sustainable future.
During her time at McGill, Adèle had the opportunity to work on a pro-bono project as a Consulting intern for a graduate student developing their nano-encapsulation company. While creating her report and recommendations, this experience allowed her to acquire knowledge about sustainability standards and further expertise in consulting. Indeed, she had previously worked with a small business in South Africa as a Social Impact Consulting intern to improve their marketing strategy and client outreach.
While Adèle has experiences in various industries, her professional ambition lies in film production. Although growing up she enjoyed directing her own projects, she became increasingly interested about the ways movies are made and production is managed. As an undergraduate, she joined Television McGill as a member and then producer, where she was able to take part in projects through sound and camera recording and assisting in short films, conferences, concerts, a film festival, and more. She is also a member of the sustainability committee of Quebec’s union for image and sound technicians, which she has joined in 2024.
In her spare time, Adèle enjoys doing sports, reading, and discovering music. She also loves baking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to discover new cultures and environments.
