Bio
Madison Sheedy holds a BA in Geography with a minor in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia.
Prior to beginning her Masters, she gained professional experience in fashion retail sales and operations at MacDermott's Menswear and as an intern with the United Nations Environment Programme's Textile Initiative, where she developed skills in reporting and project coordination while supporting circular business model adoption among textile manufacturers in Kenya, South Africa, and Tunisia.
Most recently, Madison interned at Reclay StewardEdge as a Data Analyst, where she worked with the North American consulting team on client projects related to reporting for the Canadian Federal Plastics Registry. Looking forward, Madison will be working on a research paper under the topic of textile extended producer responsibility fee allocation and the global distribution of end-of-life burdens in the textiles industry.
Through her professional experience, leadership roles, and academic projects, Madison has developed a strong understanding of how sustainability integrates into core business operations, decision making, and risk management systems. She is pursuing full-time roles in sustainable fashion and textiles, circular economies, environmental policy, and corporate sustainability, and ESG reporting.
