Bio

Madison Sheedy holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Geography and minor in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia. Her academic focus explored the intersection of sustainability, spatial analysis, and cultural landscapes, with particular attention to sustainable textiles, circular economies, and global trade practices. She is passionate about leveraging interdisciplinary knowledge to support systems-level change in both local and global contexts.

Following graduation, Madison completed an internship with the United Nations Environment Programme’s Textile Initiative, where she collaborated remotely with global teams to support sustainable textile projects such as circular business model adoption among textile manufacturers in Kenya, South Africa, and Tunisia. Her work involved reviewing eco-innovation pilot reports, analyzing industry target consultation results, contributing to internal reports and stakeholder presentations. 

Madison has also worked extensively in the fashion industry in sales and operational capacities where she guided waste reduction strategies, contributed to sustainability knowledge advancement, and supported large scale ERP system transitions. These experiences strengthened her skills in sustainability reporting, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional project coordination.

Throughout her professional and academic journey, Madison has remained passionate about advancing environmental and social responsibility within global supply chains. She hopes to bridge corporate sustainability goals with meaningful action by leveraging ESG frameworks, systems thinking, and collaborative leadership. Through the MScSM program, she aims to expand her ability to contribute to interdisciplinary solutions that drive positive, long-term change.

In her free time, Madison enjoys trail hiking, yoga, second-hand fashion curation, sustainable lifestyles, and creative writing.
