Bio
Rija Tayyab is a sustainability and marketing professional from Lahore, Pakistan. She currently serves as the Head of Marketing, Sustainability, and Corporate Affairs at Roshan Packages Ltd., one of the region’s leading packaging manufacturers. In this role, she has led the company’s transition toward sustainable packaging solutions, spearheaded carbon accounting initiatives, and helped the company achieve major milestones including FSC certification and solar energy conversion
Rija is deeply interested in the role of business as a tool for environmental and social change. Her passion for social enterprise development has been reinforced by her experience as a High Road Fellow with the WNY Women’s Foundation in Buffalo NY and as a member of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s Standing Committee on National Economic Reforms. She also brings a background in environmental advocacy, having worked on urban forest preservation and tree-planting initiatives in her hometown of Lahore, Pakistan.
Rija holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations, with minors in Feminist & Gender Studies and the History of Capitalism. Her academic and professional interests lie in sustainable business practices, packaging waste reduction, and inclusive policymaking.
Outside of work, she volunteers at an animal shelter, fosters kittens, practices reiki and tarot, and has previously WWOOFed on an organic farm in Canada.
