Anastasia Boutziouvis

Anastasia Boutziouvis graduated from Carleton University in 2014 with a Bachelor of International Business and a concentration in International Marketing and Trade. During her third year of undergraduate studies, Anastasia gained first-hand international experience by studying abroad for two semesters at the Université Paris Dauphine in Paris, France. While abroad, Anastasia had the opportunity to become fluent in French, gain cultural awareness, travel extensively across Europe and make a global network of friends. It was in her final year at Carleton when Anastasia became interested in sustainability after taking a course on business and environmental sustainability.

During university, Anastasia worked in the banking industry as a Customer Service Representative for CIBC where she was responsible for servicing financial transactions and assisting customers meet their financial goals. After graduating she completed an internship at the United States Embassy in the international trade development division and has since been working for the federal government in passport investigations at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. At passport, Anastasia honed her research and analysis skills as her job involved investigating individuals of security concern to determine if they are eligible to obtain a passport.

In her spare time, Anastasia enjoys volunteering at Ecology Ottawa, which is an environmental non-profit dedicated to making Ottawa the green capital of Canada.  She volunteered for 6 months on the communications team where she used social media to build awareness of Ecology Ottawa campaigns and local environmental issues. She is also an avid traveller who enjoys learning languages and trying local cuisine, and loves staying fit through soccer, yoga and running.
