David Hageraats

Bio

David grew up in the Ottawa Valley and graduated from McGill University in 2015. During his undergraduate studies, he acquired leadership and project management experience through two intensive international exchanges in French West Africa and Latin America. Before entering graduate school, David worked for a start-up alternative energy company where he developed a multidisciplinary skillset and a dedication to corporate sustainability. He decided the MScSM program was the right fit to explore how business and finance can be a force for good.

This past summer, he completed an internship with B. Accountability, where he played an important role in designing and developing a new business arm geared at corporate governance training and education. This private-sector exposure helped him see firsthand how sustainability strategies can lead to competitive advantage.

In his spare time, David enjoys being active through any and all types of sport, as well as connecting with his community. During the first year of MScSM, he worked with the Centre for Student Engagement to develop the first student mentorship program connecting undergraduate and graduate students at U of T Mississauga. He is also a passionate whitewater canoeist, kayaker and instructor, and continues to explore the many breath-taking rivers of Quebec and Ontario.
