Bio

Praneet graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in Earth and Environmental Sciences. His academic and professional journey has been shaped by a passion for the pure sciences, particularly environmental science. Growing up in Mumbai, Praneet witnessed the effects of climate change in a rapidly urbanizing city where development and infrastructure often took priority over the environment. These experiences motivated him to pursue a degree that would not only deepen his understanding of the environment but also enable him to contribute sustainable development

Praneet began his academic journey at the University of Edinburgh, where he completed his first year. During his time there, he actively participated in fieldwork documenting rock outcrops and mapping terrain, which provided valuable hands-on experience. After transferring to UBC, he expanded his knowledge in areas such as hydrogeology, climate science, and oceanography. These subjects further reinforced his commitment to environmental sustainability. As part of his coursework, he contributed to an Environmental Impact Assessment project for a dam in British Columbia and utilized ArcGIS to develop maps visualizing the spread of COVID-19 in Vancouver and Seattle.

Additonally, Praneet was actively involved in the Indian Student Society at UBC. He played a key role in organizing social events, particularly in the post-COVID-19 period, while also advocating for sustainable practices within the student community.

Outside of academics and work, Praneet enjoys sports especially soccer and Formula 1.Praneet hopes to build a career in sustainability, with a focus on operations and consulting, where he can help drive sustainable development and responsible growth.
