Morgan Wong

Morgan graduated from McMaster University in 2016 after completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Earth & Environmental Sciences. His passion for problem solving as well as fascination for environmental sustainability led him to pursue research in climate change and hydrology. In his final year of undergraduate studies, Morgan completed a thesis examining the impact of climate on the hydrology and ecosystem of reclaimed oil sand areas.

Further to his education, Morgan has worked for various organizations to promote environmental awareness. He has been employed as a Project Assistant for Environment Hamilton, a non-profit environmental organization, in which he led a city-wide air monitoring project and promoted a community cycling initiative. Within the McMaster community, Morgan has worked as an Academic Peer Mentor for the Science Society as well as a Workshop Facilitator to present environmental science lessons to elementary schools on the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Outside of his local community, Morgan has travelled abroad to teach English in rural communities of Laos and volunteered to help restore destroyed habitats caused by natural disasters in New Orleans.

During his spare time, Morgan enjoys playing music or taking long bike rides and nature hikes. Morgan values quality time with his family and always enjoys a good game of basketball with friends.
