Tola graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 2012 with a double major in Urban Studies and Environmental Studies. She was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria where she also interned at an architectural firm, Amarch Consultants due to her interest in the built environment. Her undergraduate degree sparked her interest in the environment and sustainability initiatives and she has focused most of her research on urbanization and urban sustainability.

She decided to pursue her interests by enrolling in the Masters of Science in Sustainability Management program in the hopes of acquiring new skills that would be valuable in creating positive change. This summer, Tola interned at Ecolibrium Strategies where she worked on research and market analysis on data driven occupant sustainability engagement in commercial buildings and global best practices in the workplace on productivity

In her spare time Tola enjoys volunteering and making positive contributions in the community. She volunteered at the Centre for City Ecology (CCE) in planning the Yes In My Backyard Festival (YIMBY), the Building Lasting Change Conference at the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC), Volunteer Note-Taker for 2 years at Accessibility Services, University of Toronto, Exchange Student Mentor at the Centre for International Experience (CIE) and in other capacities on campus.
