Master of Science in Sustainability Management • University of Toronto Mississauga

Bachelor of Science • Architecture Engineering • Ajman University of Science & Technology

Saif Kamil graduated from Ajman University of Science and Technology, UAE, in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Engineering. During his degree, he had the opportunity to attend multiple workshops in the field of sustainable architecture such as Ecotect for sustainable building design which enabled him to perform whole building energy analysis, and a workshop with Prof. Kengo Kuma, University of Tokyo, Japan for recycling and reuse of building materials.

Saif also worked with a team of four architectural students on a project to propose a new plan for an underdeveloped neighborhood in Ajman city, UAE. This neighborhood project was designed with geothermal heating and cooling systems, solar panels, and water recycling systems. The group also employed sustainable building materials in their models to decrease the carbon footprint.  The proposal was presented to the city’s local government.

In addition to his academics, Saif campaigned for positive environmental practices on his campus. Saif also interned and worked as architecture project support and building construction coordinator in ATKINS, ARC, SINA-TICH, and AL-BAYATY ARCHITECTS. While maintaining a full course load, Saif also worked as a team leader for Dell during GITEX Shopper, which is the largest and most influential consumer IT and electronics sales in the Middle East.

Upon completion of the MScSM program, Saif is looking to integrate his architectural engineering background with sustainability management skills gained from the MScSM program to pursue a career in the construction development field as a sustainability consultant.
