Bipin graduated with Bachelor of Engineering Honors from R.V.C.E Bangalore, India with first class distinction, and a specialization in Chemical Engineering.  He acquired an interest in subjects such as green technology, waste management, composite materials and nanotechnology during his undergraduate studies.  An inclination towards such subjects gave him clear insight and interest in pursuing research in these areas.

As a Chemical Engineer, Bipin has an Industrial and academic experience in the field of Industrial safety, chemical separation technology, and Industrial waste effluent treatment. Bipin has worked with like- minded professionals, eminent scientist and educators in developing sustainable Industrial processes, with a specialization in developing a zero waste process by reusing Industrial waste effluents. Bipin also possesses an effective project management skills and has been part of different Industrial projects in the past.

Bipin’s academic research on “Studies on Biofuel by cultivating Algae using sewage water as a source of nutrient” was adjudged by industrial professionals and scientists from Indian Institute of Science. This project was selected by Foundation for Advancement of Education and Research and was awarded Motorola Scholars Awards (2011-2012) by Motorola Foundation USA. His extensive research list includes topics like “ Microplastics: The hidden contaminant in aquatic ecosystem”, “ The Great Lakes Algae: Feedstock for a sustainable future”, and “ Colour Removal of Industrial wastewater effluent using nanopowder”.

Bipin has upgraded his technical, and managerial knowledge by working as a Technical Support Engineer at Atotech India Ltd, a subsidiary of Total Oil and Gas in specialty chemicals business and as a Product Development Engineer at Kingsley Engineering Services. Bipin has also worked as a Junior Environmental Consultant at a startup dealing with waste management services in India and an Operations Intern at BASF India Limited.

As part of the program, Bipin spent his summer working as an R&D industrial Intern with Fielding Chemical Technologies Inc. As part of the project team, he collaborated with scientists from Canada Center of Inland Waters on a special project dealing with recycling Industrial waste effluent and developing a sustainable process.

Apart from extensive Industrial and academic experience, Bipin is actively involved in extracurricular activities. For instance, he was involved in giving technical seminars on topics like “ Green Technology”, “ Integrated waste management”, and “ Nanotechnology” to University students in India. He has facilitated a workshop on “ Sustainability and Business” at Show Me The Green Conference held at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. Currently holding the position of the Vice President of Indian Students’ Society at The University of Toronto, St.George, he actively promotes Indian Graduate Students at different platforms.

In the future, Bipin envisions himself supporting an organization by implementing his ideas of green innovation and providing organizations with good sustainable business models.
