Bio

Amanda graduated from McMaster University in 2017 with an Honours Bachelor of Science. Amanda enjoyed learning with an interdisciplinary perspective in the Life Science program with a minor in Sustainability. Amanda’s academic interests include Environment and Health, Environmental Policy and Ethics, Water Security and Food Security. Amanda favours courses that apply a lens of sustainability that requires abstract thinking and collaboration. Amanda's goal is to bridge the gap between science, policy, and the public to ensure businesses make informed sustainability decisions.

During her time at McMaster University, Amanda was the undergraduate representative for the McMaster Water Network Student Chapter (MWNSC) which is an interdisciplinary group of graduate and undergraduate students with an interest in water related issues. She helped organize academic, social and community engagement events for students, faculty and members of the Hamilton community. Amanda enjoyed facilitating informed discussions surrounding water related issues with a diverse group of individuals. These experiences allowed Amanda to grow as an advocate for the environment and helped fuel her passion for sustainability.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time at her cottage with family and friends, playing sports, hiking and escape rooms. Amanda loves listening to live music and exploring new places in and outside her community.
