Bio

Hanin Al-Abedy completed her undergraduate studies in Life Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She began her academic journey planning to pursue pharmacy, but after taking an environmental course in her first year, her interests shifted toward the environment and sustainability. To build on that foundation, she later studied Sustainable Business Management at Seneca College, where she explored how environmental practices are applied in corporate and community settings.

Hanin has worked in different roles that focused on waste reduction, environmental reporting, and sustainability initiatives. As a Zero Waste Coordinator at Live Nation, she helped improve recycling systems and led public awareness campaigns during live events. She also worked as a Recycling Auditor at RLG, where she focused on improving compliance and reporting. In previous roles, she supported projects related to B Corp certification, ESG research, and sustainable transportation planning. These experiences helped her understand both the technical and community sides of sustainability.

Outside of school and work, Hanin enjoys hiking, visiting parks, and trying out new cafes. She also loves watching anime and always starts her day with a fresh cup of coffee.
