Bio

Caileigh is a recent graduate of the University of Waterloo from the Arts and Business Co-op program where she majored in Peace and Conflict Studies. The interdisciplinary nature of Peace and Conflict Studies allowed Caileigh to explore many topics of interest throughout her academic career, focusing always on the human dimension of complex problem solving at the intersection of social, political, economic, and environmental challenges.  Environmental sustainability emerged as one of her strongest interests, as she was able to explore the topic through courses such as environmental law, stakeholder engagement and environmental assessment.

Over the course of her degree, Caileigh completed five internships as part of her co-op program. After gaining an appreciation of the social and economic impacts of sustainable forestry at the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Caileigh continued to actively seek opportunities where she could contribute to projects involving sustainability related challenges. Caileigh went on to internships where she undertook market research and strategy work in the realms of sustainable food, renewable energy, and water policy. Through these work experiences Caileigh developed a strong interest for leveraging sustainable practices as a competitive advantage, sustainability reporting, and exploring the potential for disruptive innovation in taking meaningful steps towards addressing sustainability challenges.

In her free time Caileigh enjoys staying active and creative through pursuits such as running, playing volleyball, sewing, and reading.
