Bio

Reshmi obtained her Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering with First class distinction from Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, India. Having personally experienced grave perils due to climate change, such as cyclones and floods in her coastal hometown, she aspires to transform the world for the better, through a combination of business acumen and engineering intelligence. She developed a deep interest in effectively harnessing technological advancements to decarbonize buildings and proactively improve comfort of its occupants.

Reshmi designed an award-winning landmine detection robot on a shoestring budget for her undergraduate degree project. Using engineering principles to address a humanitarian crisis strengthened her resolve to commence a career in technology. Working as an Engineer at Honeywell, Reshmi honed her technical skills in hardware and software engineering of building automation controls. Simultaneously, she obtained her Six Sigma Green belt certification at Honeywell. In 2017, Reshmi joined EcoEnergy Insights, Bangalore, India which is a part of the Healthy buildings initiative of Carrier Corporation. As a technical lead at EcoEnergy, Reshmi led the energy savings initiatives that enabled retail businesses meet sustainability targets and reduced energy utility bills. She wrote data-crunching algorithms that provide insights to optimize the energy consumed by building equipment and reduce operational costs. She equipped herself with a plethora of analytical skills to observe patterns and create actionable insights from large amounts of data. Notably, during the Covid pandemic, she drove her team to design and remotely deploy fresh air ventilation that reduced the viral load in restaurants and workspaces within record time. Over the past year, Reshmi transitioned into a managerial role, overseeing the lifecycle and development of an innovative, artificially intelligent, digital assistant that reduced greenhouse gas emissions of prominent retail business and manufacturers located across USA and Canada. She crafted communication strategies, training modules and intellectual capital that improved product adoption and user engagement. Volunteering as a global ambassador representing India at the Society of Women Engineers, she catalyzes women in STEM to achieve their educational and professional goals by organizing student outreach programs in schools and community colleges.

Reshmi enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She is an avid reader of fictional books and is a self-taught water color artist.
