Jessica graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology & Biodiversity.  She is keen to pursue her career in sustainability and ESG consulting to develop sustainability practices, strategies and policies for businesses and organisations to create shared values and generate positive impacts to different stakeholders.  During her study, she joined different global environmental leadership and exchange programs in Australia, America, Malaysia and Indonesia.  These overseas fieldwork-based experience sparked her interests in tackling climate change and sustainability challenges to preserve the beauty of nature.

She has extensive working experience in different industries and organizations in both private and public sectors, including law enforcement, investment advisory, environmental consultancy, energy & utilities, engineering and aquarium.  She interned at Shell, a global energy company, to coordinate a sustainability project related to PET recycling and carbon reduction, generated customer insights on environmental issues.  After graduation, she entered an environmental consultancy, ERM Limited, providing consultancy service by conducting environmental impact assessments, biodiversity impact assessments, environmental monitoring & audit and stakeholder & public engagement for infrastructure construction and policy formulation projects with proven research, literature review and field survey skills. She gained experience in being a mediator between policy makers and end users for balancing their views, engendering trust and ensuring effective governance.

After that, she became an immigration officer at the Hong Kong government, responsible for supervising a team for law enforcement and immigration regulation.  The career switch deepened her understandings about how the public sector operates and knowledge about legal procedures.  She then worked at a European real estate developer delivering property solutions including social housing, commercial real estate, nursing homes and renewable energy.  She was responsible for providing immigration investment advice to foreign investors who contributed to government-approved social infrastructure projects.  She believes impact investing and cross-sectoral cooperation like public private partnership housing development can leverage external funding to meet local high housing demand.  She looks forwards to exploring circular economy and carbon emission analysis during her master study.

Apart from work, Jessica is highly committed to volunteering.  She participated in a yearlong project organized by WWF to monitor the distribution and population of Eurasian otters at a Ramsar site by installing infrared camera traps and conducting field work.  She is an enthusiastic marine conservationist with a rescue diver license.  She is also a part-time rhythmic gymnastics instructor and likes practicing Pilates and yoga during her spare time.
