Mentee Applications for 2025/26 are now open! Read below for details. Deadline for submissions is Nov 14, 2025.
Program Overview
The Move Mentors Mentorship Program is a 6-week peer mentorship initiative at the Department of Recreation, Athletics & Wellness (DRAW) at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). The program promotes physical activity and wellness among UTM students, with a focus on equity-deserving groups, which are historically underrepresented and underserved in recreational programs and spaces.
These student groups include:
- BIPOC/racialized students
- 2SLGBTQ+ students
- Female-identifying students
- Students with accessibility needs
The Move Mentors program is open to all students regardless of year and area of study. This is an in-person program where mentees will have the opportunity to make connections with their assigned mentor and fellow mentees.
Mentor-Mentee Matching
Participants will be matched with trained upper-year student mentors who provide personalized guidance, familiarize them with the Recreation, Athletics, and Wellness Centre (RAWC) facilities and programs, and connect them to campus resources to foster wellbeing, community, and belonging.
The matching process will be conducted thoughtfully, prioritizing shared interests and compatibility between mentor-mentee pairs. This personalized approach ensures meaningful connections and maximizes the impact of the mentoring experience for both parties.
