  • Open to: UTM students, staff, faculty, and librarians

Overview:

Glide into the season with UTM Skates, our annual indoor skating event designed to get you moving, connecting, and enjoying winter fun — no experience required! Brought to you in partnership between the Department of Recreation, Athletics & Wellness and the UTM Health & Counselling Centre.

Drop in anytime, but registration is strongly recommended to secure your spot and receive event updates. The first 100 students to register and attend will receive a UTM Moves swag bag!

Whether you're a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, this event is a great way to stay active and embrace the colder months with the UTM community!

 

What’s included:

  • Free skate and helmet rentals available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Free hot chocolate for all participants (while supplies last)
  • Flu shots will be available on-site during the event, offered by the Health & Counselling Centre

 

How to Prepare:

  • Register to express your interest, and to receive the latest news & updates about the event.
  • Bring a lock if you would like to store any belongings in our locker rooms (towel service is complimentary for all students).
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Bring your skates and helmet if available.
  • Complete and submit the required waivers — including the RAWC waiver and the photo/video consent form — prior to the event.
