Overview:

Start the year strong with New Year, New Moves: Adaptive Recreation & Wellness Activities – a campus-wide celebration of inclusive movement and accessibility! This engaging event invites the UTM community to experience a variety of adaptive and para-sport activities designed for all abilities, including wheelchair basketball, bocce, fitness circuits, and winter-themed outdoor activities.

The event also features a special guest talk from Canadian Paralympian, Jamoi Anderson, taking place from 12:30 PM to 1 PM, where he will share insights on resilience, inclusion, and the power of movement to bring people together.

This is a drop-in event, so you can join anytime between 11 AM and 2 PM. Whether you’re trying adaptive sports for the first time or looking to learn more about accessible recreation, this event is a great way to get active, connect with others, and celebrate wellness for everyone.

How to Prepare:

  • Register to express your interest, and to receive the latest news & updates about the event.
  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and supportive, closed-toe shoes.
  • Bring a lock if you would like to store any belongings in our locker rooms (towel service is complimentary for all students).
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Apply sunscreen if needed for outdoor activities.
