    • Bus departs from UTM: 9:45 am (Meet at RAWC Lobby)
    • Bus returns to UTM: approximately 4 pm
  • Location: Fallbrook Trail Ranch - 14097 Ninth Line, Georgetown, ON L7G4S8
  • Open to: UTM students
  • Participant fee: Early Bird - $80, Regular - $100

 

Overview:

Saddle up for a beginner-friendly trail ride and countryside escape at Fallbrook Trail Ranch! Before hitting the trail, all riders will receive a safety demonstration and riding instruction. You’ll be guided through scenic paths by trained staff, with Fallbrook guides and UTM Moves staff present for support throughout the experience.

 

What’s included:

  • Bus transportation from UTM, departing in the morning and returning late afternoon
  • A 1-hour guided trail ride with instruction, safety demo, and riding helmets provided
  • Access to additional ranch activities like pickleball and hayrides
  • Time to relax and enjoy the countryside with fellow UTM students

 

Rules & Eligibility:

  • This activity is open to all UTM students – regardless of fitness or experience level.
  • Weight maximum: 230 lbs per rider, for safety of both the horse and rider.
  • Riders must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
  • Riders must be able to mount and dismount independently using the mounting block (in case emergency dismount is needed).
  • Helmets are mandatory for participants under 18 and recommended for all (provided free of charge).
  • All participants must complete and submit the required waivers — including the RAWC waiver, the vendor’s waiver, and the photo/video consent form — prior to the event.

 

How to Prepare:

  • Register early for the event – note, spots are extremely limited.
  • Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (required for riding).
  • Bring your own lunch, snacks, and a reusable water bottle.
  • Bring a small bag for personal items (no bags allowed on the trail).
  • Apply sunscreen and/or bug spray if needed for outdoor activities.
  • Check the weather forecast and any event updates (@utm_athletics on Instagram).
  • Arrive at the RAWC Lobby at least 15 minutes early to ensure an on-time bus departure. Upon arrival, please check in with a UTM Moves Crew Member wearing an orange uniform.
  • Complete and submit the required waivers — including the RAWC waiver, the vendor’s waiver, and the photo/video consent form — prior to the event.

 

Event Weather Policy:

This event includes an outdoor component, which may be affected by weather conditions. In the event of rain, snow, or other inclement weather that could impact safety or comfort, the event may be modified, delayed, or cancelled. Any weather-related updates will be shared by email and posted on Instagram (@utm_athletics) at least one hour before the scheduled start time. We encourage participants to check for updates before arriving and to dress appropriately for the weather.

 

Waitlist Policy:

This event has limited capacity, and therefore we recommend early registration to secure your spot. If the event is full, you can join the waitlist through the registration form. Should a spot become available, waitlisted participants will be contacted in the order they signed up. Please keep an eye on your email and respond promptly to secure your spot.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made at least 1 week before the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after that date. To cancel your registration, please email: Ravi Gabble, Supervisor, Wellness Programs at ravinder.gabble@utoronto.ca.

If an event is cancelled by the organizer(s) due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., severe weather, illness, minimum registration not being met), we will attempt to reschedule or will contact registrants to arrange a full refund.
