Weekly Learn To Play

Always wanted to try a specific sport? Want to learn the fundamentals and be active on the UTM campus? Try the weekly Learn to Play program for a variety of sports. Sport Instructors will lead weekly sessions that will teach the basic fundamentals and rules of a sport. These sessions are designed for beginner level participants looking to fine tune their skills or those who are considering in trying a sport they never played before.

Table Tennis 

Mondays, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM or 6:15PM-7:45PM

Explore the exciting sport of table tennis that develops racquet control, serving and returning techniques, match play strategies, and improves hand-eye coordination through engaging drills and games.

Mondays, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM 

Players will learn the fundamentals of volleyball, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and positioning, while improving coordination, teamwork, and confidence through fun, hands-on games led by Sport Staff

Jump into badminton with this fun program that introduces the basics through engaging games, simple skill-building activities, and plenty of opportunities to play and enjoy.

Tuesdays, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Introduction to squash that teaches fundamental skills, rules, movement, and safety while building confidence and enjoyment of this fast-paced racquet sport.

Players will be introduced to the proper technique for bowling, batting, defensive play and scoring! A terrific opportunity to learn the basics of this sport in a beginner friendly environment.

Players will be introduced to the proper techniques for dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and more, while developing teamwork, game awareness, and basic basketball strategies through fun, engaging drills and activities.

Varies 

Participants will get a hands-on introduction to a new sport or activity in this Learn-to-Play Try-It event, exploring basic skills, rules, and strategies through fun, engaging games designed to build confidence and a love for trying something new.
