Development Leagues

The Development League (D-League) offers athletes a heightened level of sport competition without the time commitment of a Varsity Athletic Program. Athletes have the opportunity to take their game to the next level by learning from a committed coaching staff and administrative support from the Athletic Department. The D-Leagues are meant to give participants a near varsity experience with training and possible development towards future varsity competition.

Each UTM Development League team will have coaches, practices, exhibition games, and home & away league games. Designated admin staff will track league standings and player/ team stats. In addition to league games, our D-League teams will go to OCR Extramural Tournaments (against other Ontario College's Intramural teams) and compete in OCAA Varsity tournaments and exhibition games where possible (against other Ontario College's Varsity Teams).

U of T offers Development Leagues in the following sports:

How the leagues work...  The D-Leagues are comprised of 4 teams: one team from UTM, one team from UTSC, and two teams from St. George Campus. Teams compete tri-campus wide, with games being played throughout the season on all three U of T campuses. Games occur once per week, with travel arranged and covered by the UTM athletics department. There will be one 1.5-2 hour practice each week throughout the year held on the UTM campus.

Please refer to the individual D-League sport page for the team's practice and game schedule, as well as tryout dates.

Who is eligible? Current UTM students that are full or part-time undergraduate and graduate students.
