Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is the department of the Government of Canada with responsibility for issues dealing with immigration and citizenship. IRCC advises visitors, students and workers to submit immigration applications online for faster processing.
As an international or exchange student, it is important for you to be aware of Canadian immigration requirements that affect you.
The Government of Canada recently announced some changes for international students. These new measures are not intended to impact the number of students allowed at the University of Toronto, however implementation details are still to be decided. You can find more information on the new process here and frequently asked questions here
At this time, we are encouraging students to become familiar with the study permit application process. If you have been admitted to the University of Toronto please look out for an invitation email and register for our upcoming international student webinars, where we review how to apply for a study permit, documents required, and other important immigration updates.
