Starting university in a new country can feel both exciting, and overwhelming. You don’t have to do it alone.

The International Student Mentorship Program (ISMP) pairs First and Second year international students with experienced upper year UTM student mentors who can help you prepare, settle in, and feel confident as you begin your journey.

From answering your questions to sharing real student advice, ISMP is here to support your transition — before you arrive.

Benefits of joining this program:

  • Friendly guidance from an upper‑year UTM student;
  • Support and reassurance as you prepare for your first years;
  • Get answers to your questions about academics, campus life, and settling in;
  • Have support in regards to culture, language, and life at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) and the City of Mississauga;

How does the International Student Mentorship Program work?

  • Mentees are connected with an upper-year mentor and receive one-on-one guidance.
  • Mentors and mentees communicate over the course of 6 weeks asking questions and providing information (open enrollment for the duration of program)
