Various funding opportunities are available to student groups at the University of Toronto Mississauga. These funding opportunities require the student organization to be SOP recognized. Please view the eligibility criteria set out for each specific funding opportunity for details.
CSE Funding Opportunities
The Centre for Student Engagement offers funding opportunities to support programming and events delivered by SOP-recognized student organizations at the University of Toronto Mississauga. All funding is done on an application and reimbursement model.
CSE Student Group Funding
CSE offers one centralized application form for two funding opportunities: Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund and the Student Initiatives Fund. Student groups will now only need to complete one webform to apply for all funding opportunities through the Centre for Student Engagement. Funding distribution will be determined by a Funding Committee comprised of UTM student volunteers.
The Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund supports SOP-recognized student groups who have inspiring and engaging projects or events that enhance the student experience and foster a sense of community on campus.
The Student Initiatives Fund supports collaborative programming furthering the student experience and community on campus. This fund requires the collaborative involvement of a minimum of 2 SOP-recognized student groups.
All SOP recognized groups are eligible to apply for for $1000 per academic year, with a max of $500 per event from each fund. Please note that applications have to be submitted prior to your planned event.
BIPOC Student Engagement Fund
Bank Letter
SOP recognized student groups may request a bank letter which will allow you to set up a bank account on behalf of your student organization. A student group bank account is required for each funding application.
UTMSU Recognized groups are entitled to an email (@utmsu.ca), as well as getting a bank letter for account, through the UTMSU.
