Selecting your Program of Study is an exciting and important milestone during your time at the University of Toronto Mississauga, but it can also raise lots of questions and can feel a bit daunting. Not to worry, we’ve got your back!

SPPIE is a drop-in event for students selecting their Programs of Study (POSt) this spring.

  • Explore your program of study (POSt) options with the Office of the Registrar, Career Centre, the Centre for Student Engagement, and other experts!
  • Enjoy a supportive environment to ask questions about program selection, network and get advice from campus professionals, academic department representatives, and U of T Alumni!
  • Feel more confident in choosing the best program(s)for you!

What to Expect

The event will consist of 5 stations situated in the MN Grand Hall and 2nd Floor lobby. Each station is designed to provide you with support for each stage of your program planning journey.

Station Overview

  1. Personal Discovery: Hosted by the Career Centre, this station will help you identify personal and academic abilities, interests, goals, and values through discussions and activity with peers and career experts.
  2. Program Exploration: Hosted by our Academic Departments, exploring this station to learn about the specific programs that are best aligned with your abilities, interests, goals, and values.
  3. Enrolment Fundamentals: Take part in interactive activities provided by the Office of the Registrar to become familiar with program and degree policies and requirements, course enrolment, and adjustment.
  4. Alumni Café: Connect with UTM alumni at the Alumni Café and learn from their experiences in specific programs, related careers, and life after graduation.
  5. Advising and Applying: Attend a group advising and FAQ station hosted by the Office of the Registrar's academic advisors to learn about program selection, deferrals, advancement, financial aid and more. 

Win Prizes for Participating!

In addition to being CCR Approved, this event provides you with an opportunity to win prizes just for interacting with the stations. Participants will be provided with a passport upon check-in, and will get stamps on their passport for each station they visit. The more stamps you get, the more chances to win! 

This Event is CCR Approved

After completing your walkthrough of SPPIE and engaging with our various departments, you will be given the opportunity to reflect on your experience to receive CCR accreditation by completing the event's CCR and Check-out form.
