Alumni Mentorship Program

Applications for 2022-2023 will open in late August.

Program Overview

In collaboration with the Office of Advancement, the Career Centre and the Centre for Student Engagement, the Alumni Mentorship Program (AMP) provides third and fourth-year UTM student mentees with a platform to grow professionally, navigate their career path and expand their professional networks by connecting them to mentors who are former UTM alumni.

Alumni Mentors share their knowledge and experience and provide third and fourth-year students with the encouragement and insights they need to get a great start in their careers and transition from their undergraduate degree(s) to either post-graduate programs or the labour market. Alumni enhance students’ educational experience and give back to their alma mater in a unique and rewarding way. Our alumni mentors are from across the world, with five-plus years of professional experience in various industries and professions, and are excited to support UTM students with their career journey! Mentors often also learn from their bright young student mentees as they help them navigate important decisions at a critical time in their lives.

The program is open to undergraduates and is delivered in person. Matches meet at the program’s kick-off event held at the beginning of the fall semester. From October 2022 through March 2023, mentors and mentees connect informally as they wish, and all matches gather at several program events planned throughout the year.
