Outdoor Programming 

Spending time outside is just simply good for you; it can improve both your physical and mental health.  Join us for some outside activity on the North Field and take advantage of our limited time offerings!  Oh, and don't forget to bundle up!

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Sport Conditioning

Get ready to get back on the court, field, ice, track, or trail with UTM's Sport Conditioning class on the North Field. This class is physically distanced and teaches all components of sport conditioning including cardiorespiratory capacity, power, speed, agility, quickness, and injury prevention. U-Check most be completed in order to participate.

Yoga Bootcamp

Join us outside on the North Field for a yoga inspired Boot Camp class. Build your cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, and core strength using yoga poses/exercises, through a combination of stations, circuits, and intervals. All fitness levels welcome. Class is 45 minutes. Equipment required is a mat; participants are encouraged to bring their own, but mats will be available as needed.  U-Check must be completed in order to participate and physical distancing required as marked.

Plyo HIIT

Join us outside on the North Field for a High Intensity Interval Training class (H.I.I.T.) emphasizing plyometric movements to build cardiovascular stamina, muscular endurance and power! All fitness levels welcome. Class is 45 minutes. Equipment required is a mat; participants are encouraged to bring their own, but mats will be available as needed. U-Check must be completed in order to participate and physical distancing required as marked.

Please ensure you have registered on recreation.utoronto.ca and completed a UCHECK assessment PRIOR to attending our programs.

REGISTRATION PROTOCOLS  

Please take a moment to ensure you understand our protocols for participation. 

1.    Registration is required for all programs. 

2.    Complete your UCheck assessment prior to coming to campus or leaving your residence room.

3.    Programs have been designed to limit equipment needed. While equipment will be available for use, please consider bringing your own equipment where possible. Equipment will be sanitized, and not shared between participants. A hand sanitizing station will be available at check-in.

4.    Wear a mask at check-in and show your completed UCheck assessment at the North Field entrance gate. Masks may be taken off during after check-in when you are ready to participate.

5.    Maintain physical distance from the time you arrive to when you leave.  Follow physical distance markings on the field and signs associated with check-in lines. 

6.    Come dressed ready to participate. Indoor changerooms will not be available. Bags will be available for your belongings which you can take with you.

7.    Cancellations due to inclement weather or field conditions will be announced by 9 am each day via email to registered participants. 

We will be following all Public Health and U of T health and safety protocols and have taken all measures to ensure the safety of our UTM Community members.

Drop-in Fitness & Recreation

From yoga, bootcamp, and aikido, we offer a wide selection of fitness and recreational classes aimed to meet your health and wellness needs! We encourage you to ask questions, get to know our instructors and attend a variety of classes to find out what works best for you.

The Drop-in Fitness & Recreation classes are available to current students and community members at no additional cost. Classes are first-come, first-served, with no registration required. We encourage participants to arrive a few minutes before class to get the best experience.
