UTM Masters Swim Club

Who We Are

The UTM Masters Swim Club is a program for individuals seeking a gym alternative for fitness, focusing on training for triathlons and competitive swimming. The program is designed to enhance competitive swimming abilities, stroke techniques and personal fitness. Team spirit is encouraged within the club through the occasional organization of social events and encouraged attendance at swim meets.

The program is open to individuals 18+ years of age. U of T students who are 17 years of age are given an exception, however they are unable to compete at Masters Swimming competitions.

Our dedicated coaches have an extensive background in competitive swimming and previous coaching experience. The coaches plan and provide workouts, as well as assist with individual swimming needs.

The Program

The program consists of five optional practices per week, which run from September to August. Practices include structured workouts and feedback from coaches. The practice schedule is as follows:

Days Time
Mondays 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Tuesdays 8-9:30 p.m.
Thursdays 8-9:30 p.m.
Fridays 7-8:30 p.m.
Sundays 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Workouts will range from high-intensity interval training to endurance training. Coaches create workouts that will help meet swimmers’ individual and collective needs. Some swimming ability and knowledge of how to do a swim workout, including pace times, is expected.
