Before You Apply

Select an admissions category
You may only select one admission category when applying to U of T Mississauga. If you are interested in more than one program area, apply to the one that best represents your academic goals, or choose the one with the most prerequisite subjects or highest grade requirement.

Review our admission requirements
The minimum requirements for admission consideration vary by program. You must present all the requirements, including prerequisite courses, to be considered. All of our programs have limited spaces, and the admission selection process is competitive.

Read about our English language requirements
If English is not your first language (i.e. is not the first language you learned at home as a child), you may need to provide evidence of adequate English facility.

View dates and deadlines
Visit our Dates & Deadlines page to learn about our application deadlines, document submission deadlines, and other important dates.

The cost of studies at U of T Mississauga varies based on your program of choice, whether you live in residence, the cost of your books, equipment, transportation and other living expenses.

Admission requirements
Competitive transfer students normally have a solid 'B' average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale / 73%) in their post-secondary studies, provided they include sufficient academic content.

Transfer credit policies
We generally award transfer credits for courses completed at other recognized post-secondary institutions where course content is equivalent to that of a similar UTM course.

Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics
Entry to the Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics admission category is gained directly from high school. Applicants who have completed any postsecondary studies (including studies at other divisions at the University of Toronto) are not eligible for admission to this program. This includes CEGEP applicants that have completed 14 or more academic courses.

Applying for transfer credits
A transfer credit application can be submitted once an applicant has received an offer of admission. We are unable to pre-assess eligible transfer credits prior to admission. Depending on the result of your transfer credit assessment, you then may be eligible to apply to a specific program of study.
Ontario CAAT and CEGEP: Applicants to Commerce and Management are limited to a maximum of 3.5 generic transfer credits.
CEGEP: Business, Commerce/Management, and Economics courses completed outside of institutions recognized by Universities Canada are not eligible for transfer credit.
University: Business, Commerce, or Management courses are only eligible for transfer credit consideration if they were completed at a Universities Canada member institution.

Transfer Explorer
If you are applying from a Canadian university, you can use Transfer Explorer to see whether the University of Toronto has previously awarded transfer credit for courses you have taken, are taking, or plan to take. If one or more of your courses does not appear on Transfer Explorer, it likely hasn’t been assessed previously and the relevant materials (course outlines/syllabi) would need to be reviewed to determine if transfer credit can be granted. Transfer Explorer course equivalencies do not represent a guarantee that students will receive transfer credit.
