Theatre & Drama Studies Audition

As a component of your application to Theatre & Drama Studies, you are required to book an audition, which is weighted equally with your academic average. 

Registration

We will invite applicants to the Theatre & Drama Studies program to register for an audition soon after we receive your application.

  • Audition registration will open on November 11 and close on January 26 at 11:59 pm ET.
  • When booking your audition, you will be required to pay the $40 audition fee.
  • Results will be communicated in March/April.

Audition Schedule

Applicants should plan for a 4-hour in-person audition process. The 2025-26 schedule currently includes the following audition dates:

  • February 7, 2026
  • February 8, 2026
  • March 14, 2026
  • March 15, 2026

 


Audition Details

Once you have registered and paid for your audition, you will receive detailed information on what you need to prepare for your audition, and how all components of the audition will be submitted. Please ensure that you review these documents carefully for detailed guidelines.

Full audition details will be announced in November 2025. Past auditions have included the following components:

Audition

  • Two Contrasting Monologues
  • One Song
  • An Interview

Theatre and Drama Studies Offers

Applicants who meet the academic requirements for Theatre and Drama Studies at U of T Mississauga will first receive an offer of admission to the Humanities, pending the results of their audition. If your audition is successful, your offer will be automatically updated to Theatre and Drama Studies.

If your audition isn’t successful, but you otherwise are still academically qualified, your admission to Humanities will remain secure. The Humanities at UTM is home to outstanding English and Drama programs – a great environment to explore your creativity and build a strong foundation as a future director, dramaturge, or theatre critic. You’ll also have another opportunity to audition for Theatre and Drama Studies at the end of your first year at UTM.
