As a Student Ambassador, you will be responsible for positively representing University of Toronto Mississauga and the University of Toronto, by communicating with both prospective and admitted students and their families. This includes leading campus tours, managing our social media accounts, assisting with the planning and preparation of recruitment events, and sharing your experiences to show what made you choose UTM.

Ambassador, Student Recruitment and Admissions

The Ambassador, Student Recruitment and Admissions will contribute to the planning, preparation and execution of recruitment events. The individual selected will also participate in the development of an annual report and gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders for all events, providing critical feedback for future campus events.

This Ambassador positively represents the University of Toronto and the University of Toronto Mississauga by communicating and engaging with prospective and admitted students and their families. This Ambassador is also responsible for leading campus tours, assisting with the planning and preparation of recruitment events, and providing customer service by phone and email.

Projects include:

  • Providing a student perspective interacting with prospective student engagement activities through webinars, online events, and virtual outreach initiatives.
  • Assisting with the planning and development of all recruitment events and initiatives throughout the year, such as: Fall Campus Day, March Open House, etc.

The Ambassador, Student Recruitment and Admissions Events will contribute to the development of programming for campus outreach activities and aid in the recruitment of student volunteers and campus partners to participate in recruitment initiatives.

Projects include:

  • Storytelling; gathering student stories from academic departments to profile and share with prospective student audiences
  • Developing innovative and interactive activities throughout the academic term for student events e.g. Orientation Week, Exam Jam, Winter Welcome Week, etc.
  • Participating in webinars and other prospective student engagement activities
  • Assisting with the volunteer management program.

Ambassador, Student Recruitment and Admissions Communications

The Ambassador, Student Recruitment and Admissions Communications will contribute to the social media communications strategy (through Instagram, YouTube, Blogs, etc.), helping to develop student-oriented content that is unique and speaks to the campus identity. They will assist and contribute to the development of programming and execution of recruitment activities for prospective students and families through events and social media support.

They will develop and produce influential digital content that will support departmental conversion efforts, informing the offer of admission decision-making process for prospective students. This Ambassador is a self-starter and will have strong organizational and presentation skills along with fluency and comfort with vlogging and being on camera.

Projects include:

  • Developing and implementing innovative social media campaigns on Instagram to connect with incoming students.
  • Developing, enhancing, and delivering student blogs/vlogs by connecting and engaging with current students to share their experiences at UTM.
  • Assisting with feedback collection and reporting on social media insights to ensure proper data gathering and shaping future data-driven decisions.
  • Leading effective and informative tours of U of T Mississauga's campus in-person and online (e.g. live virtual campus tours).

Ambassador, Student Recruitment, Outreach

The Student Recruitment Ambassador will contribute to the preparation and execution of administrative, outreach and event initiatives aligned to the diversity student recruitment and admissions portfolio. The incumbent will co-create and sustain programs to provide fair and equitable access to information about applying to the University of Toronto Mississauga. 

The Student Recruitment Ambassador will be responsible for positively representing the University by providing excellent customer service, through communication and engagement with prospective and admitted students and their families.

Projects include: 

  • Storytelling; gathering student stories from academic departments to profile and share with prospective student audiences
  • Leading effective and informative tours of U of T Mississauga's campus in-person and online (e.g. live virtual campus tours)
  • Engage community in dialogue and planning in initiatives designed to remove barriers students historically underserved and underrepresented (higher education) 

Ambassador, Admissions and Transfer Credit

The Ambassador, Admissions and Transfer Credit is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of Student Recruitment and Admissions, will be expected to sometimes conduct campus tours, participate in social media campaigns and provide assistance with events and activities. The Ambassador will be responsible for positively representing the University by providing excellent customer service, through communication and engagement with prospective and admitted students and their families, and will work cooperatively and effectively with others in the team to provide support and deliver services. The Ambassador responds to inquiries and provides customer service support in admissions, transfer credit, academic programs and campus information to prospective students, visitors and key stakeholders through in-person, web and email interactions. 

Projects include: 

  • Preparing and verifying information, and gathering course outlines, for senior staff to complete transfer credit assessments.
  • Assisting with data entry and validation, and document management.
  • Leading effective and informative tours of U of T Mississauga's campus in-person and online (eg. live virtual campus tours).
