The UTM Anthropology Society is pleased to organize this event at UTM. Although the conference is designed with undergraduate students in mind, graduate students are also welcome!
2026 Undergraduate Anthropology Conference at UTM

Call for Papers
- Abstracts are due February 25, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
UTMAS invites undergrad students to submit a project - from a class or independent research - as a poster or presentation for the annual Anthropology conference at UTM! Submit your abstract (a summary of the main points and overall theme that you will be discussing or showcasing at the conference) by Feb. 25. The abstract does not have to be perfectly refined and we invite all to apply. We are excited to see all of your projects!
Submissions and Registration
Visit the UTMAS Linktree to submit an abstract and/or register to attend. Even if you don't intend to present your work, you are welcome to learn more about the subfields of anthropology!

Presentation methods and ideas
Undergraduates: this event is designed so you can practice your presentation skills in an informal and supportive environment on the UTM campus!
Presentation methods:
- Solo or group presentations are welcome
- Oral presentations should be approximately five to eight minutes long
- If you prefer to present a poster you can apply for funding to cover the cost of printing (see Research Posters section below)
Some ideas for presentations:
- Research paper or project from an ANT course you have already completed
- Research that is in progress for an ANT course that you are currently enrolled in
- A UTM Abroad travel experience
- A field school experience
- An independent study experience
- An internship experience
- A work-study position experience

Funding Opportunity to Cover Cost of Printing (for in-person conferences)
Students who wish to present posters at an in-person conference may apply for funding to cover the cost of poster printing.
Apply to the Undergraduate Student Experience Fund. On the form, select Attend conference related to research (including poster printing) as the activity type.
