With the knowledge and permission of the Wendat Nation we are researching connections between the Wendat, Wyandot, other Indigenous Nations and European traders using minimally destructive Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry of glass beads from Wendat village sites. The high precision data from this analysis allows for us to suggest the recipes used by glass artisans, and to reconstruct trading relationships among European and Indigenous peoples in the 16th and 17th centuries.

We work with archaeometric researchers at other institutions including Laure Dussubieux, Ron Hancock, Joe Petrus.
