Ohahi:yoh: Summer Mentorship Program

This program is designed to offer Indigenous high school students a chance to explore what life is like as a university student at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. Students who participate will be a part of our mentorship program offering them opportunities to take either a 3U or 4U English course while connecting with current Indigenous UTM Students who have experienced the transitions from high school to post-secondary education.

Throughout the program, students will join engaging workshops and events that will empower their Indigenous identity and provide them with the strategies, skills, and knowledge to make an informed decision on their education and career path.

Program Highlights

The activities the students participated in introduced a new learning skill and each was unique.

The activities includedvisiting Six Nation Tourism which included archery, visiting the Royal Ontario Museum and learning from our very own staff members of the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, Faith Desmoulin and Jordan Jamieson, who introduced our students to song writing!
