University of Toronto Mississauga: Valedictorian Nominations
To be eligible for nomination you must be a graduating student who has received a U of T Student Leadership Award (UTSLA) or a UTM Leadership Achievement Award (UTMLAA).
Students who graduate in fall 2025 may apply to be the 2026 valedictorian.
Students may self-nominate or be nominated by UTM staff, faculty or librarians. Selection is based on student leadership, volunteer service, and contributions to the UTM and/or U of T-wide community. The successful Valedictorian will be notified.
Only one Valedictorian is selected each year.
How to Submit Your Nomination
Please submit your nomination through the UTM Valedictorian Nomination Form.
You will be required to submit a PDF document that briefly describes in 100 words or less why you / your nominee should be the Valedictorian of the graduating class. Nominations are are now closed.
Please note only one application will be considered per nominee.
UTM Valedictorian Role and Responsibilities
- The selected Valedictorian will prepare a speech of up to three minutes.
- Arrangements will be made to record the speech on campus and share it with the graduating class from UTM.
- The Valedictorian will also be featured in a campus news story.
