Myla Cooper (She/Her)

I am a Masters of Social Work practicum student with a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I recognize that being a post-secondary student is stressful. It is easy to become anxious and depressed with the overwhelming pressures of academia and everyday life. I am here to provide a space to be yourself, to be heard and to ask questions. Each experience is valid, every one of us walks through the world differently. My experience is not your experience, we are each unique!  

I work from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework and use a systems theory lens. I understand that societal, social, colonial and cultural systems affect our mental health and well-being. I have a background working in Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI). I have also mainly worked with persons with disabilities, children, youth and the deaf community. I take an honest, empathetic and compassionate approach to my work. I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey as we work together towards your goals.
