Keynote Bio (2021): Christopher Siu
Christopher Siu is a graduate from the University of Toronto Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and winner of Master Canada Season 7. Christopher became interested in baking after years of watching his father make cheesecakes for family birthdays. By studying cookbooks, he became a great baker, making fresh bread during the week and pastries for afternoon tea on the weekends. His friends and family are his inspiration for baking, and putting smiles on their faces through his sweets and treats is what keeps him going.
After capturing the hearts of Canadians on MasterChef Canada Season 2, Christopher was determined to make his bakery dreams comes true. He returned to the University of Toronto to finish his pharmacy degree and worked for several years as a pharmacist while baking from home to hone his skills and save money. In 2017, Christopher opened his first bakery Daan Go Cake Lab and has since opened 2 more. His mission statement is simple, to create innovative and delicious sweet to recreate the same experience he had as a child for others to enjoy.
For Christopher, baking is relaxation – give him a whisk and a rolling pin, and he’s in full meditation.
