Important Information about LifeLabs
The Health & Counselling Centre at times, uses LifeLabs for laboratory work (e.g. blood work, urine testing, swabs, etc.). As you may be aware, LifeLabs recently identified a cyber-attack, and has posted an open letter to its customers, which you can find here https://customernotice.lifelabs.com/
We encourage you to contact LifeLabs directly if you have any questions or concerns.
The UTM Health & Counselling medical staff is experienced in working with diverse university populations and is comfortable discussing all topics related to student health and wellness.
Students can make appointments with one of our physicians or nurses to discuss a wide range of health concerns including:
- First aid of injuries
- Sports injuries
- Chronic illnesses
- Physical exams
- Cold & flu
- Birth control
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Pregnancy testing

Making wise and informed choices, taking care of your reproductive health, and accepting and expressing your sexual identity are all vital to staying sexually healthy throughout your life.
Peel Public Health's Healthy Sexuality Program helps to promote a sexually healthy community in Peel. Their services are local and include sexual health clinics, community outreach and a Sexual Health Information Line. Healthy Sexuality clinics provide counselling, current information on birth control, sexually transmitted infections, and programs and services for many aspects of sexual health.
Anyone can make an appointment, regardless of their sexuality, gender, race, age, religion or disability. No health card (OHIP) is required to receive services at their Healthy Sexuality Clinics. All services provided are confidential. View clinic locations here.
Cancellation of a regular 15 minute medical/doctors appointment requires at least four "business" hours notice. Failure to give proper notification will result in a charge of $40 to you.
Cancellation of a 30+ minute medical/doctors appointment requires at least 24 hours notice (not including weekends). Failure to give proper notification will result in a charge of $60 to you.
