Be Well UTM
On Thursday, September 18th we hosted the 8th annual Be Well UTM: Resource & Activity Fair. This event was open to all UTM students, staff, and faculty. This event was brought to you by the UTM Health & Counselling Centre.
The Be Well UTM Fair was held in Gym A | B, and featured a wide range of community and on-campus resources, along with wellness activities, aimed to support student well-being and success at UTM.
The event featured tons of opportunities for students to connect with a wide range of support and services, while also engaging in intentional practices to enhance positive mental health and well-being. The event saw over 700 participants β marking a 9% increase from last year.
Students had the opportunity to receive a swag bag*, earn a food voucher* and/or CCR credit by participating!
*Food Vouchers: limited quantities were available; it was first-come, first-served.
Here's what students had to say about the fair!
- I really loved the vibe of the whole fair, it was very thoughtfully curated for students. It definitely made my day!
- It was very informative and welcoming and I absolutely loved the inclusion of the dogs being there and the Photo Booth made everything seem more fun and exciting!
- I really enjoyed how the event incorporated a lot of resources when it comes to mental health, and also resources that are also part of the factors of it, like homelessness, shelter for housing, and programs to help with eating disorders.
- I learnt that there is a lovely community here at UTM who are always there to help, if needed.
- I had a lovely time. The volunteers and organizers were a delight to talk to.
