You donβt need drugs or alcohol to have fun or enjoy yourself at a party! But, if you decide to use alcohol or other drugs, plan ahead by experiencing these 5 Stations to reduce potential risk/harm:
Station #1: Emotional Coping at Parties with the WAMs
- Explore different coping strategies that may arise in social or party settings and consider whether they represent lower-risk or higher-risk ways of responding to stress, peer pressure, or social overwhelm.
Activity: Coping Strategies: Low or High risk?
Station #2: Planning Ahead & Pacing Your Night with Peel Public Health
- Practice intentional party planning to maintain balance and safety throughout the night.
Activity: Mapping a Party Plan
Station #3: Naloxone Use & Opioid Safety with Peel Public Health
- Learn to identify the signs of opioid overdose, understand how naloxone works, and practice responding safely.
Activity: TBD
Station #4: Recognize & Respond to Common Party Risks with Ask the Nurse
- Identify early warning signs of physical distress at parties and understand when and how to provide first aid or seek professional help.
Activity: Body/symptom Response Scenarios
Station #5: Bystander Responsibility & Safety with Campus Safety
- Learn how to recognize situations where intervention is needed and how to act responsibly without putting themselves or others at risk.
Activity: Identifying impairment and ways a bystander can help.
CCR βοΈ
Students attending the party will have a chance to earn a CCR and receive a party favour while supplies last.
- Students must go through all 5 stations to get CCR!
